Partnership with Trinity United Reformed Church, Lancaster, UK
A unique partnership was established in 1980 between St. John’s Church and Trinity United Reformed Church (TURC) in Lancaster, UK, initiated by Rev. Joseph Pratt.
This collaboration has involved ongoing exchanges of news and visits, including Rev. Robert Courtney, the Presbyter-in-charge of TURC, visiting Vellore in 1982 as a speaker for Lenten services at St. John’s Church and the Christian Medical College.
In return, Rev. A. C. Oommen, then chaplain of the Christian Medical College and a member of St. John’s Church, served at Trinity Church in Lancaster, marking the beginning of a continuing relationship between the two churches.
Partnership with Interserve
In 1996, during Dr. Rev. Ernest Fritschi’s tenure, St. John’s Church sent Dr. Bijoy Koshy and Mrs. Premila Koshy as missionaries to Interserve.
Initially with Interserve-India, they are now part of Interserve-International, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
