Antiques & Monuments in St.John's Church

St. John’s Church is home to a fascinating collection of historical artifacts. Among its treasures is a stunning Communion Plate, crafted in 1842 and adorned with the East India Company’s coat of arms. The church once displayed regimental colors from the 10th Madras Native Infantry, which were later transferred to a Gurkha regiment in Hong Kong. Historical records dating back to 1813, written in elegant copperplate script, tell captivating stories of the past—marriages requiring military permissions, baptisms of Indian converts, and tragic events involving snake bites and tiger attacks.
